Our Story

“Taste and see that the LORD is good”

What is the secret to the great  food at The Tea Cottage?  Down Home Southern Cooking of course, with food prepared fresh just for your event and made with quality ingredients.   For example, our chicken salad is made with natural breast meat cooked and then hand picked, adding pecans, grapes, other ingredients, and LOVE!

Charlene’s passion is to minister to people by using her God-given hospitality to provide a relaxing and quaint environment while serving down-home southern homemade goodness. Her verse for The Tea Cottage is Psalm 34:8, “Taste and see that the LORDis good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” (NIV).

Cindy Wicks shares the vision and has been helping with the Tea Cottage since its beginning in 2006.  Cindy also does the Off-Site Catering.

And, Oh Yeah – Husband Jack makes the ice cream!

Homemade Chicken Salad and Homemade Ice Cream

Our Award Winning Chicken Salad and Homemade Ice Cream have quite a following.  Jack a.k.a. “Charlene’s husband”, “free labor”, “maintenance man” and perhaps most importantly – “world famous ice cream and gelato maker extraordinaire” (just ask Maria from Germany) makes the ice cream served at The Tea Cottage.   His ‘Old Tyme Vanilla’ Ice Cream is served with most pies and cakes.
